Well, it's time to get some weight off that roof, as we are expecting another 18" this weekend and who knows when it's going to stop...
That and the driveway was getting pretty hard to manage, even for a flat driveway.
You can kind of see how the wind kept the front edge of it down to only a few inches of snow, but out back it was a good 2 feet deep. Took most of the edges down with the roof rake, then climbed up and shoveled the rest, took about an hour. Worth it! Especially across the front by the garage doors, when we thaw and refreeze the doors get frozen shut. Then it's too late...
Note on the last pic - since the gates to the backyard are blocked with snow, now the kids can just climb over the fence!
Bonus video if you made it to the end - I let my kids experience something we don't get to do very often...
Cannonball!

Thanks! It was a requirement while house shopping 14 years ago. My real estate agent thought I was a little crazy, but then she saw what I keep inside...
(Current interior, cleaning today please excuse the mess!)

It's perfect.
That's my only current requirement for the next house. The house itself could be 500sqft as long as there's a 2.5 car garage with power.
I've been "shopless" for the last 8 years and can't take it anymore.

Ha I was looking at houses, and made a bee line for the garage. Whipped out a tape measure and started measuring. The agent goes in 8 years I've never seen a person spend almost as much time in the garage as the house. I said a major lacking piece of information in real estate was the lack of info on garage size or pictures.

Measurements are key! Some of the things they call a 2-car garage, are patheti and sad.

Some are really comical. Especially ones that look like they were homemade in the 50's.
1) had different sized boards for the roof and walls: 2x4s 2x6s. One wall wasn'n plume. I don't know what "code" But there is no way this passes.
2) the garage was behind the house, So were walking up, great curb appeal, then as we finish with the house, i go to the garage. the closer I get I start to realize the "thats a low roof", "thats a really low roof." The roof was only a few inches taller than me, and with the door up I had duck under it.
3) Really pumped, looking at google image, looked huge" advertised 2 car. Started life as a 2 car garage, then with a poorly smoothed floor, can see that at some point it was expanded with another bay, and small workshop. Awesome through potato cam, get there and she was wondered why I was annoyed. Well addition looks like it is about to fall apart, there are two types of siding, and needs a new roof.

Yeah, I've seen all of that too. I also can't stand when the garage is barely any wider than the 16' door, and so shallow that you can forget a work bench, if you have any longer than a Miata.
A friend of mine is now house hunting. Last weekend he went to a house that was advertised as having a huge 2-car garage, and a shed. Well, the garage was huge. The shed, however, had a monstrous hole in the roof. It was in such disrepair, that you'd want to just burn the thing down.
